Viterbo – Heat emergency, the Ministry raises the alarm due to the risk of a heat wave

Temperatures above 36 degrees in the next few days with the consequent risk of heat stroke for children and the elderly

VITERBO – The summer that seemed not to arrive has finally arrived all together in the capital of Tuscia where the risk of heat waves immediately increased for the next few days.

Already today the temperature is rising sharply, with the Ministry of Public Health including Viterbo in the 27 Italian cities most at risk to prevent health problems and promote interventions in favor of the most vulnerable people.

The anticyclone Minos reigns supreme, which in addition to wiping out the bad weather, has brought temperatures to new records for the season.

For today, Tuesday 17 June, the yellow warning is already foreseen (alert 1, according to the Ministry’s index) with maximum perceived temperatures of 34 degrees centigrade.

For tomorrow, Wednesday 18 June, the situation is even worsening. The expected perceived temperature is over 36 degrees with the consequent risk to the health of the population, in particular for the elderly and children.

For Thursday, even if the Ministry has not yet issued any alert, further increases are predicted by the weather stations. The situation should instead ease around the weekend, with the arrival of fresh air from the north.
