VERCELLI – The University of Eastern Piedmont has ended up under the magnifying glass of the Vercelli financial police. Specifically, we investigate on the management of Pnrr funds intended for research projectsdoubts also about the procedures two competitions within the university.
The investigation began following a complaint sent to the economic and financial investigative unit of the Fiamme Gialle in Vercelli by colleagues from Turin, involved in the investigation into the alleged hidden pact in the Crt Foundation.
And while the UPO should elect the rector who will succeed Giancarlo Avanzithe latter together with his predecessor, Paolo Luciano Garbarino – the same Garbarino, former rector of Upo and professor at the Disum, Department of Humanistic Studies of the Amedeo Avogadro involved, in fact, in the Turin affair – and a circle of collaborators, ended up in investigators’ sights.
As regards the competitions which are the subject of the complaint, these are two competitions announced for a position as a first class teacher in Modern Art, subsequently revoked, and that for an ordinary teacher in History of Roman Law, won by Garbarino’s wife, in a period in which her husband sat on the Board of Directors of Upo.
