Approved in Sicily a rent bonus intended for low-income families and those who have been damaged by the pandemic emergency. The Region has put it on the table 21.4 million euros for the Rental bonus 2022. The tender approved in June 2024, as the name itself suggests, is however intended for holders of a rental contract for public, private or social housing in 2022.
The recipients
The “Rental Bonus 2022” announcement is intended for those who have had a ISEE 2022 of the family unit equal to or less than the sum of two INPS minimum pensions (equal to 13,659.88 euros) or equal to or less than the income limit required for access to subsidized housing (equal to 15,639.46 euros).
But those who have suffered a loss of their Irpef income of more than 25% due to theCovid-19 emergencyup to incomes with an ISEE value of 35,000.
Where to apply
Requests must be submitted exclusively online on the appropriate portal made available by the Sicilian Region (siciliapei.regione.sicilia.it/fondolocazione). Applications, related to the required certifications, can be submitted from June 17th to 6:00 pm September 13th. To authenticate you must have a Spid or Cie (electronic identity card).
To access the measure it is necessary to present, optionally, the certification Ise or the ISEE. The certification attesting to the income bracket to which one belongs must refer to tax period 2022.
The full name of the tender is “National Fund to support access to rental housing – Determination of the obligations to allow tenants of rental housing to benefit from the supplementary contributions assigned for the year 2022”.

When drawing up the ranking, no priority criteria will be given to the chronological order of receipt of the applications.

Support for over 10,000 families
“The size of the rent bonus has grown, going from 17 million in 2021 to 21 million in 2022: an increase in line with the direction already traced by my government, in the wake of social equity that supports the real economy. A measure that has proven to be a concrete help to families who have suffered the most from the effects of recessionary phases which we hope are now over, as we did with the high mortgage bonus, allocating 50 million euros, the payment of which was completed a few days ago does”. This is what he declared president of the Region, Renato Schifani.
Echoes theInfrastructure councillor, Alessandro Aricò: “We return with the 2022 rental bonus after the excellent experience last year in which we supported over 10,000 families with an average contribution of around 1,600 euros for each family unit. We continue to stand alongside the Sicilians on such an important issue as that of the cost of rent which has a significant impact on the family budget”.
