An honorary citizenship assigned unanimously and with great enthusiasm. No discussion in the group leaders’ conference on the proposal put forward by the president of the municipal council Cristiano Bottici to recognize the coach Antonio Calabro after he brought Carrarese football to Serie B. As provided for by the regulation for the granting of public honors by the Municipality, the Honorary citizenship can be conferred by the city council to those who through their work have acquired significant titles of merit for the work they have done towards the Carrara community, or who have worked to make the Carrara reality known in the world.
Coach Antonio Calabro succeeded in bringing the city team back to Serie B after 76 years of absence, bringing unforgettable emotions not only to the fans, but to the entire city that gathered under the yellow and blue colours.
Now President Bottici will start the process to formalize the awarding of the recognition to Mr. Calabro, which will take place during a solemn city council meeting before the start of the championship.
