New Politics/Movement

The assembly of Movimento Nuovo members met on Saturday 15 June. After an extensive reflection on the first round of the municipal elections in Lecce, in a final document the assembly: “Expressed regret for the lack of victory in the first round by only 23 votes.

He took note of the resounding rejection of Carlo Salvemini and the centre-left coalition and expressed deep satisfaction for the outcome of the vote with the clear success of Adriana Poli Bortone and the centre-right coalition and for the brilliant result achieved by President Bronek Pankiewicz with almost 500 preferences in his first electoral experience.”

“The city has already chosen – declared Bronek Pankiewicz – both the mayoral candidate and the lists, with the parties and civic forces, which achieved the majority. We are already winners, we are the majority in this city. A clear message has emerged: there is a desire for the centre-right.

While waiting to know the final and definitive data, I would like to sincerely thank all those who made this extraordinary result possible, in my first electoral experience.

Thank you for the affection, esteem, trust and enthusiasm you have shown me.

It was an exciting journey in which I carried forward my values, my principles, my planning while always maintaining my style and respect for everyone.

Now for this result to make wonderful sense we must all support Adriana Poli Bortone together in the run-off which will be held on 23 and 24 June, urging all the citizens of Lecce to vote and to make Adriana vote, as before, more than before!”
