The Cri of Como mourns the passing of one of its tireless volunteers: farewell to Daniele di Marino

A sudden illness while he was at the seaside on the Riviera, in Bellaria. He was in the company of his dating partner. The heat gave no escape to Daniele Di Marino, a 42-year-old resident of Como, who fell ill during the night between Saturday and Sunday in Bellaria. Di Marino, professor of molecular biology at the Polytechnic University of Marche (photo above), was a figure of great human depth and a tireless volunteer. For years he had been a point of reference for the Cri di Como where today the news was greeted with dismay and disbelief.

This is the post of remembrance of the Cri Lariana leaders. Daniele was generous, someone who never held back. Even during the pandemic – four years ago – he was among the most active.

We want to always remember you with a smile, ready to help others with your determination and strength!

You have left an incredible void in us!

The President, the Council, the Volunteers and Employees join with his wife and family in this difficult moment.

Thank you for these years of service to the Italian Red Cross… Have a good trip!

Di Marino lived between Como – where his partner lives, who is expecting a child as mentioned – and Ancora where he taught. Appreciated in every field, he leaves a huge void. Funeral date yet to be set
