Emma Librandi and Lorenzo Trocino win the first Optimist zonal selection in Crotone – ilCirotano

Crotone, 16 June 2024 – Emma Librandi of the Crotone Velico Club and Lorenzo Trocino, also of the Crotone Velico Club, won respectively in division A and B of the first zonal selection of the Optimist class, a sailing regatta held on Sunday 16 June in Crotone.

The race, organized by LNI Crotone in collaboration with Yachting Kroton Club and Maresport, with the patronage of the Italian Sailing Federation VI Zona Calabria-Basilicata, saw the participation of 22 young sailors from Circolo Velico Reggio Calabria, Made in Med Community and Club Sailing Crotone.

The two races held took place in variable weather and sea conditions, with erratic and sometimes absent wind, sometimes with gusts.

In division A, Emma Librandi took first position, followed by Ruben Soda (both from Club Velico Crotone) and Anita Valentina Colella from Circolo Velico Reggio Calabria.

In division B, however, first place went to Lorenzo Trocino (Club Velico Crotone), followed by Bianca Barilà Iero of Made in Med Community ASD and Giorgio Paonessa of Club Velico Crotone.

The awards ceremony was held in the evening at the Naval League of Crotone, in the presence of the Sports Councilor Marco Zumpano, the FIV National Councilor Fabio Colella, the president of the Regatta Committee Domenico Pugliatti and the president of the Jury Giacinto Tesoriere.

Councilor Colella thanked everyone for their collaboration and the success of the event, inviting the participants to the next appointment, the second zonal selection which will be held on 6 July in Reggio Calabria at the Circolo Velico Reggio.
