Second day of competitions for the Emilia-Romagna Tennis Cup, the ATP Challenger 125 tournament organized by Master Group Sport in collaboration with the Emilia Romagna Region and underway at the Sporting Club Sassuolo. In the morning the main draw was outlined. The six winners of the double qualifying round are added to the twenty-six tennis players already registered in the main draw.
Marco Cecchinato prevailed with a double tie break (76 76) by the Spaniard David Jorda Sanchis. Tomorrow Cecchinato will face the number 7 seed, the Argentine Francisco Comesana.
The other blue Alexander Weis defeated the resistance of the Australian Blake Mott in three sets (62 26 63) with aces (6 for him at the end of the match). Weis will face the Frenchman Valentin Royer tomorrow, who is also out of the qualifiers after beating the American Ryan Seggerman in three sets 64 46 64.
Riccardo Bonadio overtook the Argentine Agustin Gomez (156 in the ATP ranking) with a score of 63 62. For Bonadio, the opponent in the first round of the main draw will be the Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas. The Slovakian Martin Klizan also moves to the main draw, having won the challenge against the young Croatian Luca Mikrut (62 67 76). Tomorrow he will face the Italian Giulio Zeppieri. Victory for Guido Andreozzi over the Australian Blake Ellis (63 61): the Argentine will find another Italian on his path, Stefano Travaglia.
Tonight at 8pm Fabio Fognini will be on the pitch for the match against the Frenchman Maxime Janvier.
