Just concluded the presentation press conference Rome, Wednesday 12 June 2024 – The sixteenth edition of “Marateale – Basilicata International Award” is underway, which will be held from 23 to 27 July in the suggestive “pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea” at the Teatro sul mare of Hotel Santavenere. The long-awaited presentation press conference took place this morning, during a journey from Rome to Maratea on board a Frecciarossa, the high-speed train of Trenitalia (lead company of the Passenger Hub of the FS Group), with those present on board by Nicola Timpone, Artistic Director of Marateale; Luigi Corradi, CEO and General Director of Trenitalia; Antonella Caramia, Mediterranean Cinema Association. Just under 3000 works, including feature films and shorts, were proposed for the three sections of the event: “Green Award”, “Marateale in short” and “Marateale in school”. The 3000 works were sent from 110 nations: a clear sign of the authority and prestige that Marateale continues to enjoy at an international level. During the five days of the festival, the presence of young people from the Civil Service of the southern Basilicata area, including 27 countries, will be notable: 175 volunteers will be engaged, during masterclasses, screenings and awards ceremonies, to contribute to the correct and safe running of the event . On the same days, as part of the school-work alternation activity, the collaboration of the students of the “Nicola Carlomagno” classical high school in Lauria is expected. Furthermore, for the third consecutive year, in Marateale ample space will be given to the “Young Blood” project, strongly supported by Daniele Orazi of Do Agency and Fabia Bettini of “Alice nella Città” to promote young talents under 30. Frecciarossa, for the fourth consecutive year, will be the main partner of the “Marateale”, one of the most anticipated summer events, dedicated to the seventh art, confirming itself as a company that connects people to their passions such as cinema and culture in general. Furthermore, the collaboration with Stardust is renewed, the first Italian company born with the idea of ​​evolving influencer marketing starting from the “People are Media” principle. The prizes will be created by the master goldsmith Michele Affidato who has been collaborating with the Marateale through his art for over ten years.
