The birth of the new body that brings together the Municipalities of the Alto Lazio coast is one step away from being realized, but there are still those who make it a political issue trying to protect the interests of the current Metropolitan Area

In the aftermath of the electoral round which marked the acclamation of centre-left mayors in Civitavecchia and Tarquinia, there are those who waste no time in giving a political meaning to the project of the New Province, Gateway to Italy.

An opposition City Councilor in Fiumicino, for example, posted his personal thoughts on the Social profile (also speaking on behalf of those who absolutely did not express themselves on the matter) regarding the decision of the new Mayors to oppose the “Porta d’ Italy”.

Meanwhile, the title “Yet another flop for the Baccini Administration” clashes with the electoral defeat suffered by him and his coalition just a year ago; and this is history and not personal considerations.

For Tarquinia, given that the enterprising councilor of Fiumicino also speaks on behalf of the newly elected Sposetti, the matter is different… the Etruscan town by embracing the project would gain membership in a Province that would offer, through an international airport and a maritime one among the most important in the Mediterranean, a visibility and economic advantages that it could never even dream of if it remained anchored in Viterbo.

The train from the Porta d’Italia Province would not pass again and, in any case, it is a moving train that no one would be able to stop anymore.
