from Brief transports of 17 June 2024

Campania Region press release

With the delivery today (17 June) of 100 new buses, the strengthening of Campania’s road transport service continues.
Three categories presented today:
• 27 double-deck, three-axle interurban buses with Euro 6 diesel engine, length 13.35 m;
• 30 urban minibuses with CNG engine, 7 m long;
• 43 Euro 6 diesel city buses, 8 m long.

In compliance with the ecological transition criteria introduced in the bus purchasing procedures, the new vehicles have a low environmental impact and are equipped with a series of features that make travel more accessible, safe and comfortable, including platforms for accessing weak users.
Furthermore, electronic devices relating to the “Intelligent Collective Transport System of Campania” (ITS-C) are installed on each vehicle, which allow the service and safety on board to be monitored, as well as to communicate with users to inform them promptly in case of innovations on the line, improving the reliability, regularity and punctuality of the system.
The new buses reduce consumption and pollution while increasing comfort and safety.

With these 100, 1,249 new buses have been delivered to local public transport companies, such as EAV, ANM, AIR Campania and many others, out of a total of 1,685 planned as part of the current general fleet renewal programme.
