Anti-Pride flyers, Nardini: “Aggression by the far right intolerable”

“Faced with the shameful flyers posted in the city of Lucca by right-wing extremists, I want to express the full support and maximum proximity to Tuscany Pride and to the many organizations that are organizing the event”.

This was stated in a note byregional councilor for equal opportunities of the Tuscany Region, Alessandra Nardini, who continues: “The right’s aggression against rights, freedoms and our deepest values is now daily and intolerable. From women to the LGBTQIA+ community, in particular women trans people and rainbow families, every day find a target at which to hurl their hatred. They are causing a dangerous climate to grow in the country, in the face of which the President Meloni continues to choose complicit silence.”

“This – continues Nardini – makes it even more important to be there, to demonstrate, to say loud and clear that Tuscany remains an open, plural, anti-fascist land, which Tuscany sides with rights and against any form of discrimination and prejudice. As a Region we will be at Pride and we will sponsor it as we have always done and it is essential that as many institutions as possible do so. I hope that the municipal administration of Lucca will also provide its patronagetake part in the parade and distance yourself from these shameful flyers.”

“In fact, I believe it is a duty for those who temporarily represent the institutions at all levels to march proudly to say that there are no people, loves, families of series A and series B. It’s time that even those in the centre-right who claim to adhere to more moderate positions demonstrated this and distanced themselves from these continuous violent messages and, I repeat, very dangerous” concludes Nardini.
