Bologna, finds a purse on the bus and hands it to the driver: “There were 60,000 euros inside”

It can happen that, on a day like many others in June, at first week of summer holidays after the last bell of the school year, a seemingly nothing special bus trip and like many others on the streets of Bologna suddenly becomes one to remember. Even quite a long time. It will probably also be the case for the beneficiary of a person’s gesture teenager, so simple yet surprising. Last week the young man was on board a bus Tper line 30, the one that connects San Michele in Bosco with via del Sostegno, when at a certain point his attention was caught by a bag, away from any other passengers. When he realized that he was truly left unattended, with the owner already on the ground, the boy didn’t think twice and reported it to the driver of the vehicle. It could have ended here, with the identification of the owner and the return of the contents, but this is not the conclusion of the story, because it is precisely the contents of the bag that represent the exceptional nature of the story.

The cash

In fact, inside as much as 60 thousand euros, all in cash. It is useless to talk about the astonishment and disbelief of the bus driver: “Incredible, it’s not every day you find such a large amount of money before your eyes”, said the driver to the first people he had the opportunity to speak to. . Indeed, 60 thousand euros in cash, all together, someone will probably never see in his entire life. Inside the purse, in addition to the banknotes «packaged in small packets», explained the municipal administration, there were also documents and various other personal objects and effects. The bus driver therefore immediately called the operations center Tper which, in turn, alerted the radio operations center of the local police.

The investigations

Investigations were started immediately, which quite easily led to the identification of the owner of the bag; investigations and investigations which, however, are still underway allow you to “complete checks” relating to the money, announced the Municipality of Bologna, which also specified in a note: «At the end of the necessary investigations, the entire amount will be refunded». It’s difficult to remember a find from such a large amount of money: among the most recent cases, a couple of years ago, two thousand euros were found in San Lazzaro near a dumpster by a passerby, only to be returned to the 86-year-old owner by the police.
