Travo’s literary evenings start on Thursday 20 June with the historic Eremo

Piacenza historian Giorgio Eremo will open the program of the 2024 edition of the “Giana Anguissola” Literary Evenings in Travo. Next Thursday the author will present Val Nure – Il castello di San Giorgio, his latest work published by Libreria Internazionale Romagnosi in 2021.

With this volume, Eremo continues its journey through time and the Piacenza area to tell, with a multidisciplinary approach between history, archaeology, architecture, art, literature and demography, some of the most significant settlements in our province.

This time the work is dedicated to Val Nure, and in particular to San Giorgio Piacentino and its majestic castle, of which the author reconstructs the architectural evolution, also retracing the history of the noble families who promoted its construction: Anguissola , Scotti and Ceresa.

The evening will see the participation of the scholar Marco Horak, who wrote the preface of the book.

The new mayor Roberta Valla expresses deep satisfaction: «We are really happy to inaugurate the Literary Evenings with Giorgio Eremo, who is at home in Travo, and who has always supported our commitment to enhance the territory and the figure of the writer Giana Anguissola, a to which the unpublished fiction competition for children is also dedicated, which this year has reached its fifteenth edition.”

«In recent years – he is keen to underline – thanks to excellent team work, the involvement of the Andersen magazine and the support of the Piacenza and Vigevano Foundation, our competition has established itself at a national level, attracting authors from all over Italy . We even brought luck to some of them, because after being awarded at Travo they were published by national publishing houses.”
