Grosseto. 7,919 female businesses operating in the Maremma, out of the over 93,000 pink businesses active in the Tuscany region, or approximately 8% of Tuscan companies are from Grossetowhen instead the resident population is around 6%.
These are the data that emerged from the focus on female entrepreneurship organized by the provincial Confesercenti and by Impresa donna a Grosseto, with greetings from the mayor of Grosseto, Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna, from the national president of Impresa donna Confesercenti, Barbara Quaresmini, and the conclusions of the regional councilor to economics, Leonardo Marras.
«Women’s businesses in Maremma are 27.44% – states the provincial director of Confesercenti, Andrea Biondi -. A figure higher than the regional (23.5%) and national average (22.25%). The senator Simona Petrucci, one of the first geologists of our land, described the difficult path to establish oneself in a world of men: «When I showed up with my male assistants they thought they were the geologists”. With determination she managed to establish herself and now «in my sector everyone knows and respects me, I have established myself thanks to my skills and studying hard».
In the end Sacha Naldi, daughter of a family of merchants, as soon as she graduated in philosophy she chose to return to her origins. Now, in addition to a small quality restaurant, it organizes catering for important weddings throughout Tuscany and has created a network in its municipality, Santa Fiora, to sell local products through the community emporium and a widespread hotel to guarantee hospitality to the tourists.
