The Port System Authority of the Western Sicilian Sea communicated through the Official Journal of 15 us (second part) “that the open procedure has been announced, authorized by Presidential Decree no. 232 of 12.06.2024 for the assignment of the maritime concession for the use of uncovered and covered areas located at the Trapezoidal Pier of the Port of Palermo, to be used for the mooring of pleasure vessels and related services, for the duration of 10 years.”
The area that will be given under concession concerns the Palermo Marina Yachting tourist port – inaugurated last October in the presence of President Sergio Mattarella – part of the large project in the Trapezoidal Pier in the Port of Palermo: a waterfront redevelopment work strongly desired and carried out forward by president Pasqualino Monti.
The tourist port, in addition to the moorings for yachts and superyachts which, from the renderings, should include at least 250 berths including 14 dedicated to mega yachts over 100 metres, will be one of the fulcrums of the project which has the purpose of being a historical and commercial attraction.
In addition to having allowed the redevelopment of a degraded area and having enhanced the ancient walls of the Castello a Mare of Palermo, the overall project, spread over 40,000 m2, has included a wide range of new structures, including commercial premises, restaurants overlooking the sea, spaces for luxury yachts, a convention center, panoramic pedestrian paths and a five-star hotel. Among the new creations there are the new mooring locations intended for the concessionaires “Marina Adorno”, “Marina Galizzi”, and “Si.ti.mar”.
The investment is over 30 million (made up partly of AdSP’s own funds and partly of Pnrr funds) and requires less than two years of work for its complete completion.
Returning to the procedure for awarding the concession, this provides, in addition to the various requirements of a general nature and technical and professional capacity, the criterion for awarding the most economically advantageous offer. The offers must be received by 1.00 pm on 16.07.2024 at the AdSP headquarters.
