the project assignment tender was deserted

The tender announced by the province of Foggia for the activation of a summer maritime line between Manfredonia and the Tremiti Islands was unsuccessful. The project, financed by the Puglia Region with almost 400,000 euros, aimed to create regular and efficient connections during the summer months. However, this time too the attempt failed.

Only one candidate, Ct Peschici Srl, participated in the race. This company had already managed the maritime connection service in the past as part of the Temporary Business Association (ATI) Gargano Metro Marine, together with A.Galli & Figlio Srl. Despite this, the judging commission excluded Ct Peschici Srl due to of deficiencies in the documentation presented.

According to the shippingitaly.it website, one of the main requirements of the tender was that the participants had managed, in the last three years, contracts for similar services with a unit amount of at least 300,000 euros. Ct Peschici Srl presented contracts in which it had participated as principal in the ATI, with participation percentages of 20% for 2022 and 45% for 2023. The commission considered these percentages insufficient to satisfy the required requirement, thus leading to the exclusion of society.

It is not the first time that an attempt to award the service has failed. Even in 2023, the first procedure ended unsuccessfully, while the second was successful. Now, the Province of Foggia could decide to launch a new tender, as happened last year, to assign the service before the start date scheduled for July 1st.
