A conversation on the episcopal figure of Antonio Belloas well as the presentation of the book “Tonino Bello. A bishop as a friend” Of Domenico Cives. This will be the heart of the debate scheduled for Friday June 21st to Biscegliein Piazza San Francesco.
The text (San Paolo Edizioni) tells the life of the servant of God, one of the freshest and most original voices of the Church in recent decades: a special biography, the humble steps of bishop of the last, presented by the pen of the person who was Don Tonino’s doctor in life.
During the evening, starting from 7.45pm, the top management will speak “Don Tonino Bello” Foundation in the persons of the president Giancarlo Piccinni and the vice president Stefano Bello, nephew of Antonio. Ecclesiastical officials will also be present: Monsignor Domenico Cornacchiabishop of the Molfetta-Ruvo-Giovinazzo-Terlizzi Diocese where Don Tonino was appointed bishop in 1982, and Monsignor Giovanni RicchiutiPresident of Pax Christi Italia, international Catholic peace movement in which Bello held the presidency from 1985 to 1993, the year of his death.
The event, promoted by the association Books in the Ancient Village, will be supported by the direct testimonies of Mirella Cives and Mimmo Casillo, respectively the author’s daughter and friend. The journalist and TV presenter will moderate the conversation Lucia Ascione.
