Castellammare di Stabia (Na). In view of the composition of the first Vicinanza council, parties and civic lists that have elected at least one municipal councilor are seeking agreements to obtain greater political weight in the negotiations of the departments, at least to receive an assent on the position and name of the person who should obtain a delegation from the mayor.
In the coming years, between regional funds and those deriving from the PNRR, the administration will have to manage over one hundred million euros. To ensure that this money can be spent in the area, much will depend on the approval of the urban plan, on the intended use of many lands in Corso De Gasperi, the former Cirio and more. Consequently, the center of political power will be the town planning department.

The first clash between the Democratic Party and the Vicinanza list is taking place in this seat. The latter would like the urban planning department to be entrusted to a woman, without indicating whether it is a political or technical personality. While the Democratic Party would have in mind to designate the seat to one of its leaders linked to the elected councilor and MEP Sandro Ruotolo, probably Valeria Longobardi. To achieve this result, Ruotolo could find support in the M5S given the good relations that have always bound them.
On the other hand, we must not forget the Casillo component, transversal to parties and civic lists which includes among the elected councilors, linked to the regional deputy, Giovanni Tuberosa (Pd), Giovanni Nastelli (UxS), Luigi Fiorenza (Vicinanza list). A group that can greatly influence the names to be proposed to the mayor Vicinanza for the composition of the council.
Also looking for transversal agreements is the popular base list – Democrats and Progressives, even if initially it said it intended to offer only external support to the junta, today well-informed voices suggest that the first elected on the list, Maurizio Apuzzo, he would be available to join the council to lead a powerful department, thus leaving room for the first of the non-elected Francesco Esposito.
But the tussle in the urban planning chair is not over yet, there would still be the democratic and reformist list that under the auspices of the two elected councilors Teresa D’Angelo and Nello Cuomo is pushing for the architect Pino Rubino.
The new mayor, Gigi Vicinanza, is dedicating himself to the municipal machinery in recent days, hoping that the ten lists will seek a minimum of balance and agreement between them, then everything will pass into his hands. The choices will not be painless given the many ambitions that also come from above in view of next year’s regional elections.
