«A beautiful day of sport and celebration, which we will not forget». With these words, the president of Montemarciano Table Tennis, Lucia Russo, summarized the visit of the federal president Renato Di Napoli, who presented a commemorative plaque to the company for its 36 years of uninterrupted activity.
Founder Ivo Mazzarini could not miss this particular event, who began the adventure with Luigi Russo 36 years ago. Starting with little, but with many dreams, today the membership exceeds 60 and the dreams are the same as then.
Children and young people were present at the event, followed by technicians Gabriele Barchiesi, Musibau Ayinla Babatunde, Andrea Giombi and Luigi Manoni. This year there have been many successes achieved.
Also speaking were the newly installed mayor Maurizio Grilli, with the entire council and all his staff, the board of directors of the UPR Montemarciano (Simoncioni, Gambelli, Guerri and Paladini) and the Chiaravalle sports councilor Eleonora Chiappa.
The winners of the award were the history of the Montemarciano TT, Mazzarini, and the present and the future, represented by Barchiesi.
«We thank the Federation – states President Russo – which, with this award, demonstrates that it looks carefully not only at large companies, but also at small ones, born in small countries, which make many sacrifices and carry out educational and inclusive projects, which they work with children, teenagers, adults, trying to create a serene climate and to be “good life teachers”. President Di Napoli’s words recognized this and moved us and, at the same time, flattered us. This plaque was unexpected and is very welcome indeed. We will continue to grow and work to spread the practice of this sport for all and practicable by all. The recognition stimulates us to do even better, in the name of the same values that have always characterized the life of the company.”
