In recent days, the staff of the L’Aquila Flying Squad have intensified checks in the Castello Park area, as part of operations aimed at combating drug dealing. During one of these checks, three young people, two of Egyptian origin and one Tunisian, were found in possession of approximately 40 grams of hashish and reported for possession for the purpose of dealing drugs in competition.

One of the boys was also reported for not having respected the residence ban in the Municipality of L’Aquila. During the inspection, he was notified of a DACUR provision (Prohibition of Access to Urban Areas), issued by the Police Commissioner of L’Aquila Enrico De Simone. This provision arose from previous checks and is based on the dangerousness of the subject, whose behavior has endangered the integrity, safety and public tranquility.

The DACUR imposes a ban on the young person from frequenting, accessing and staying in the immediate vicinity of numerous public establishments in the city centre, as well as in places where he has committed offences. This measure aims to prevent further dangerous behavior and ensure the safety of the community.

The Flying Squad’s operation underlines the importance of constant control of the territory and decisive action against drug dealing, to maintain the safety and serenity of the citizens of L’Aquila.
