At the “San Martino” in Maiori, Mr. Di Meo’s team suffered a bitter comeback against the Amalfi Coast. Up by one goal at the end of the first half thanks to Lucero’s goal, the star-studded team was put back together first by Caputo’s goal in the second half, then by Pepe’s goal in the second extra half.
A bitter and mocking epilogue to the season for Bisceglie. Mister Di Meo’s team was defeated 2-1 by Costa d’Amalfi at “San Martino” in the second leg final of the Eccellenza national playoffs.
In the first half the Campania team becomes dangerous in the 8th minute: Caputo serves Apicella, whose right-footed shot is blocked by Suma with his fists. The star-studded team responds first with a shot from Di Rito, captain of the day, who tries to worry the white-blue goalkeeper Manzi with a shot from midfield, then with Mangialardi, whose left-footed shot is deflected into a corner by the opposing goalkeeper. In the 18th minute Pignataro beats number 99 Biamcazzurro with a splendid overhead kick, but the referee annuls the penalty for offside. It is the prelude to the stellar goal: in the 22nd minute following a free kick taken by Farucci, Lucero hits the ball with his head, breaking the deadlock. Bisceglie manages the result with authority and in the 31st minute Di Meo’s team is dangerous again with Mangialardi, but his shot from the edge is central. At the end of the first half, Mister Proto’s team responded with a shot from Aiana, which was deflected by Sanchez and involved Suma in averting the danger. In the second half, Costa d’Amalfi tries to restore parity, while the star-studded team tries to keep a good guard. In the 19th minute Mangialardi entered the Campania area but his shot ended up on the outside of the net. Two minutes later, however, it was the Campania team who re-established the balance: on the left Apicella served Caputo who passed Suma. Bisceglie reacts in the 29th minute: Di Rito suggests for Kouame, whose shot is deflected into the corner by the Biancazzuro goalkeeper. On the opposite side, Costa d’Amalfi has an important opportunity to take the lead in the 31st minute: Apicella serves Caputo who heads the crossbar. After two minutes, following a corner kick, Bonicelli finishes high on the upright. Last thrill for the Nerazzurri with Di Rito’s header which was intercepted by Manzi. At the “San Martino” regular time ends in a draw. In the first half of extra time, Bisceglie tried to worry the opponent’s rearguard: in the 6th minute Kouame on the left served Di Rito, whose header, however, was central. In the second extra time Apicella kicks towards the goal defended by Suma, who keeps good guard after a deflection from Cassatella. The match in Campania is decided in the 7th minute: Avantaggiato commits a foul and the referee awards a free kick from the edge of the area. Pepe draws a trajectory that goes over the barrier and ends on Suma’s right. Despite Bisceglie trying to regain parity, the final result was 2-1.
