The Polisportiva Astigiana, after leading the rankings throughout the season, raises the cup to the sky in the final of the 7-a-side football tournament organized by the Provincial Delegation of Asti FIGC/LND Recreational Sector. In the final of the Playoff Silver, Astrea Astigiana prevailed against the Apaches.
The two finals of the 7-a-side football tournament organized by the Provincial Delegation of Asti FIGC/LND were played on Saturday 15 June at Campo Bosia 2 in Asti. In the first match Astrea Astigiana – The Apaches, after the 0-0 draw in regulation time, it was the penalties that gave Astrea the success of the Playoff Silver, the final scoreboard which included the teams classified from 7th to 12th place .
This will be followed by the final of the Gold Playoff, reserved for the teams finishing from 1st to 6th place during the regular season. Trattoria Bar Castello took the lead twice in the first half, the boys from Polisportiva Astigiana closed the gap at the end of the first half. Of note are a post and a crossbar in each half respectively. Polisportiva therefore managed to grab a draw and triumphed in the penalty shootout, taking home the cup!
At the end of the two matches, the Regional Councilor Walter Vercelli and the Provincial Delegate Gianfranco Merlo rewarded the teams and presented the individual awards. The referee of the final Gianluigi Bruno was given a plaque of thanks for the AIA Section of Asti, also represented by the President Robertino D’Alessandro, for the collaboration and availability that the referees showed throughout the entire season, covering all scheduled races.
Individual awards were presented to: Yordan Dinchev Ivanov of US Montechiaro, top scorer of the tournament with 42 goals; the best goalkeeper was awarded to the number 1 of the Polisportiva Astigiana Nelu Melinte, the best player award voted by all the teams went to Danilo Nappi of Real River Vamos, while the Fair Play award, to the most correct team, was assigned to Essetre .net.
After the great success of the first edition of the FIGC/LND 7-a-side Football Tournament – Recreational Sector, the appointment is already set for next season for the second edition. A meeting will be organized in July to collect pre-registrations for the 2024/2025 championship.
