In midfield, despite the loss (at least until February 2025) of Ronaldo, the department with the return of Zonta from Taranto and Cester from Torres is, at least, numerically fine. Aloi is a 27-year-old midfielder who can play various roles in midfield: he can play in a two-man midfield, he is good at covering and recovering the ball, but he also does not disdain the role of midfielder, a position in which he has good insertions which they guarantee some goals. Aloi made his mark in professional football in the 2018/2019 season at Trapani led by Vincenzo Italiano who considered him an essential element of his team which won promotion to Serie B by beating Piacenza in the playoff final.
Alternatively, Mister Vecchi likes it Davide Balestrero, Feralpisalò midfielder who the Bergamo coach knows very well. Balestrero’s role is a midfielder in a three-man midfield, and he might encounter some difficulty if Mister Vecchi’s idea was to play with a two-man midfield in support of three offensive players. However, Balestrero has shown great flexibility in the last season, playing several games even as a third on the right in a three-man defence, and it is likely that his candidacy will be seriously evaluated by the Berica management even if it will not be easy to snatch him from Feralpisalò.
