Description:

On Thursday 20 June at 5.30 pm, on the occasion of the Music Festival, a conference-concert on Ugo Frizzi, storyteller from Livorno at the end of the 19th century. Halfway between news events, politics, parody and tastes of the time, the cantatas of the storytellers represent a source of great interest for the cultural history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Thanks to the singer-songwriter Pardo Fornaciari some of these songs will be performed again to the public. The repertoire will be drawn mainly from the cantatas of Ugo Frizzi, one of the most famous storytellers of Livorno of the time. The music and the display of some of the leaflets that were distributed during the shows will allow us to immerse ourselves in the culture of the late nineteenth century.
