I steal from other people’s houses, I destroy everything or almost everything and, since I’m there, before saying goodbye I also make myself a coffee, with mocha and pods from the absent owners. It happens in Breda di Piave, Treviso, in a house in via Marche, on the night between Saturday and Sunday 16 June. It is the fourth house “visited” by thieves in recent months.
Like a tornado
The loot wasn’t much – apparently a vacuum cleaner and, indeed, a coffee machine were missing – but the house was literally devastated by the perpetrators of the theft. Having entered by breaking into a balcony, the thieves turned every room they passed through upside down: living room, kitchen, bedrooms… Upon returning to Breda, Fabrizio and Cristiano Girotto, father and son, found their home as if it had been hit by a whirlwind. The thieves, in order to act undisturbed, would also have stunned the family’s German shepherd.
“I feel powerless”
«I feel helpless – the words of Cristiano Girotto, who will file a complaint for theft with the police – in the face of something like this I don’t know how to react. I feel anger and a lot of regret, because in the end there was nothing in the house and I think they understood it immediately… More checks are needed.”
