The beginnings, the process, the debut with Milan: Zeroli tells his story

Kevin Zeroli it is one of the most interesting prospects from a future – and present – perspective in the house Milan. A mix of Italian-Nigerian origins and a process made entirely in the Rossoneri youth academy, where he entered when he was still a child. The midfielder born in 2005 was the protagonist of Homegrown, an in-depth episode published by Milan on the official Youtube channel of the Rossoneri club. Zeroli spoke about himself in 360°, ranging from his first steps up to the recent season concluded with the Primavera, crowned by the emotion of his debut in Serie A. The player spoke about that debut, his journey in the Youth League and the special relationship with Abbot. Below are his words and the full video of the interview.

Zeroli talks about his beginnings at Milan

Milan is a family, it is the club that raised me and made me become a man. I played in Busto Arsizio, in an oratory team together with my brother. A Milan scout had noticed him, but in the end they took me. Coaches in the youth sector? Biffi and Magrin gave me a lot, I had a lot of fun with them. Braids? Yes, I have often been labeled as Gullit. And he would be a great role model. When I was little I admired Iniesta, now Bellingham has many characteristics that belong to me. But I know I have to grow a lot. From my parents I learned to always be humble.

The Primavera, Abate and the debut in Serie A: Zeroli’s emotion

When Pioli called me my legs shook a little. But then on the pitch I melted. Making my debut in front of our fans was wonderful. I didn’t understand anything, I heard some screams from Pioli but he seemed to be inside a bubble. A good memory of these years? The semi-final with Porto: my recovery of the ball and then our goal. I was about to get emotional. Penalties in the Youth League? By now it had become a good habit, it was wonderful. I wanted to score and that’s it. Defeat in the final? It’s never nice to lose, but we managed to play it without regrets. We gave everything. The relationship with Abate? He made me grow on the mentality, on the importance of scoring goals. Being important for the team and changing the game: he helped me a lot with this. For now he has been the most important coach for me.
