Towards the new Fabbri council

Between today and tomorrow the reconfirmed mayor Alan Fabbri will begin consultations with allies and will have his government team ready by the end of the week. If Fabbri were to rely on the ‘formula 9’ again (there were many councilors with whom he surrounded himself in the last council), they can be certain of the reconfirmation of Nicola Naomo Lodi as a Lega member, Alessandro Balboni for Fdi, Matteo Fornasini (Forza Italia) and Cristina Coletti (Fabbri’s list).

It is known that Fabbri tends to ‘reward’ those among those elected who have received the greatest number of preferences with the move to the council. A scheme that would close the door to former councilors Micol Guerrini and Dorota Kusiak and to Andrea Maggi who, despite having 441 votes, did not enter the city council with his Ferrara list in the centre, which received 2.24%.

But nothing is lost for the former councilor for sport and public works. Five years ago Guerrini, fresh from 1.2% of Ferrara Civica, joined the council, even though he already practically had the League card in his pocket.

Angela Travagli, councilor for work and productive activities in the last five years, could also be at risk. Her 387 preferences do not protect her from the possible overtaking of Silvia Fabbri, newly elected and second of the most voted on the mayor’s list with 483 pencil marks. It is true that the 30 percent collected from the mayor’s personal list should guarantee at least three departments.

According to this scheme, however, he risks being left out of the new executive Marco Gulinelli, appreciated by just 272 voters. The former culture councilor had been Sgarbi’s man in 2019. But this time the well-known art critic, completely busy with the European elections, did not give his support to Fabbri’s ride.

Let’s go back to the safe names then: in addition to Lodi (who is pushing for urban planning, also contested by Francesca Savini), Balboni (future deputy mayor), Fornasini and Coletti, they can well hope for a seat Francesco Carità, mister preference with 1100 votes and Chiara Scaramagli, municipal coordinator and vice-president of Acer, the second name that Fratelli d’Italia will demand in the council.
