Frost. Salvatore Scerra, who concluded the race for mayor in the first round, should formalize the agreement with the engineer Grazia Cosentino today, returning to a centre-right coalition, extended to moderates, which he had instead opposed by putting himself at the head of the “Alliance for Gela ”. Several exponents of this experience anticipated it, offering official endorsement for Cosentino and effectively weakening a certain idea of cohesion. From this electoral cartel, however, support does not only come for Cosentino. The outgoing president of the city council Salvatore Sammito and the lawyer Marina Ferrara, lined up on the “Scerra mayor” list and among the most supported, have instead decided to stay with Terenziano Di Stefano’s coalition. “We have carried out a project in which we have invested every energy, a project that found its gravitational center in our leader, Salvatore Scerra. Today that perspective is replaced by a choice, that between the two candidates who won the ballot. We thank Salvatore Scerra for having spent body and soul so that our common project could come to fruition – they explain – during this electoral campaign the already immense esteem towards him has increased exponentially, together with the pride for the result achieved”. With Scerra no longer on the field, unlike the candidate himself and other pieces of the “Alliance for Gela”, who converged on the center-right from which they had distanced themselves, Sammito and Ferrara decided to support Di Stefano and his associates. They reiterate that they have no bitterness towards Scerra but their vision leads them to a different project.
