“I was born to believe the impossible and my imagination is incapable of believing anything less.” This is how Forest Blakk recites in his “The most beautiful thought”, a song on which the kids from the contemporary laboratory of Sasha Riva and Simone Repele danced on Saturday evening, on the stage of Principino Eventi, during the final evening hosted by Monica Lubinu and Enrico Contarin, of the Dance Festival. And it is precisely what often seems impossible that the dancers who have performed and studied in recent weeks between the stage of the Caruso auditorium and the rooms of the Principino aspire and often achieve. As was the case for this fourth edition, organized by the municipal administration with the artistic direction of Andrea Volpintesta, and of which the final Gala was a demonstration. An evening that saw many performances, from the poetry of Riva and Repele, to the neoclassical laboratory of Attila Csiki with the participation of Rita Pompili and Manuel Milani, to the “Coppelia” of Mai Ezoe and Damiano Felici, who had just graduated from the opera school From Rome. Just as he has seen many prizes awarded. From the plaques to the 17 participating schools, to the Carla Fracci Awards to the masterclass teachers and, above all, to the scholarships, those named after the prima ballerina, and those for the prestigious schools of London, Amsterdam and New York, to the boys and girls. A Festival whose protagonist, yes, was dance, but also solidarity. Thanks to the contribution offered by schools and outsiders, in fact, 6 thousand euros were collected which, on Saturday evening, in two equal donations, were delivered to the “Fiori di Loto” and “Mi cura di me” associations by the councilors and the councilor Rodolfo Salemi. Who, perhaps he is right, Viareggio can be “like a drawer of dreams”.
