Italy-Albania: official match in Dortmund and symbolic friendly in Ferrara

If the European Championship match was staged in Dortmund, which Italy won 2-1 against Albania, a more symbolic one is being staged in Ferrara at the tennis club in via Porta Catena. A soccer match between a representative of the Albanian community and an Italian one. Immediately after the match, around 50 people moved to the Acquedotto social center in Corso Isonzo, where Italians and Albanians had dinner and watched the match together.

The organizer, Erzen Sejdini, comments satisfied: “It was a beautiful initiative that underlines the bond between our countries. An integration process that began in the 90s and continues today thanks to the respectful and continuous work of both parties. It is never trivial to reiterate it but I am increasingly convinced that the meeting of different cultures can only humanly enrich our city even more.”

Also present at the event was the newly elected city councilor Matteo Proto, who commented: “Congratulations to those who organized the evening, a clear demonstration that feelings of fear or distrust regarding the migratory phenomenon are often just the result of unfounded prejudices and cause more problems than solutions ”.

“The Albanian community – continues Sejdini – is one of the largest in the province, almost 4000 people: a figure that reflects exemplary integration and which can only benefit the territory not only from an economic and professional point of view but also from the demographic view”; the garden was in fact full of children intent on playing with each other while their mothers and fathers watched the match.

“Events like this – he concludes – have the aim of uniting us even more, so much so as to make the origin of the people present indifferent and indistinguishable, whose attention was turned only to the pleasure of the company and to cheering together”.
