Suspicious bag, fear at the airport – Pescara

PESCARA. A dark suitcase left under a bench in the check-in area triggered the alarm, yesterday around 1pm, at Abruzzo airport. Endless minutes of fear for the travelers present at that moment and departing for their respective destinations.
The airport was immediately evacuated. The reception and information services desks, the bar and the check-in desks are closed. Employees and passengers were invited to go outside, while the plane coming from Tirana, which had just landed, was blocked on the runway with all passengers on board. Moments of agitation for all present.
Once the airport had been emptied, the police bomb squad arrived and began preparing to blow up the suspicious baggage left under the metal bench at the airport, made safe by the police forces on duty in the Abruzzo airport. However, while the bomb squad’s preparations continued, a lady showed up at the entrance asking for information about a bag she had forgotten a few hours earlier.
It was precisely the one in question, which paralyzed the airport’s activity for just under an hour, creating quite a few inconveniences, and sent shivers down the spines of dozens of passengers departing and arriving in Pescara.(oda)
