In the first electoral round we were on opposing sides: different vision of the City, heterogeneous operational proposals and different awareness of the ‘administrative status quo’. Elements strongly highlighted in the few comparisons we have had. You wrote very well, Ugo, the democratic expression of the last vote ‘clearly’ indicated the two contenders in the “ballot”, giving the undersigned, and any elected members of the coalition that supported me, the role of ‘city councillor’, evidently of opposition”. “And this is the only way forward, net of reflections due, out of institutional courtesy, to your polite invitation and I agree with the fact that you wanted to share it ‘publicly’”. “This gives me the opportunity to respond in an equally ‘public and transparent’ manner”.
“In respect of internal democracy, after informing candidates and supporters, I appreciate the consideration, but we will not join any form of alliance (technical or political). It is legitimate and right (it was decided by the electorate) that you and Domenico are competing for the position of ‘First Citizen’. As mentioned, we will fulfill the task entrusted to us as ‘opponents’: strict in the verification activity; inflexible in reminding the next administration of its duty and obligations towards the community; determined in supporting the reasons of citizens and productive realities. At the same time, our proposals will not be lacking (we will have many, of different kinds and, always, in favor of the City) and we will be as vigorous in supporting them as we are resolute in stigmatizing non-compliance and any lack of attention”.
