Ag. Fabio Silva: “Italy or Spain in his future, Fiorentina and Bologna appreciate him very much”

Fabio Silva, born in 2002, was considered among the greatest talents of his generation and the move from Porto to Wolverhampton, in the summer of 2020, costing 40 million euros, seemed like it could be the right one to make the definitive leap. Then, a series of problems did not allow the Portuguese striker to perform as expected. Over the years he has been sent out on loan several times, most recently with Rangers in the winter transfer market, in which the Scottish team managed to overtake the interest of numerous clubs, including Italian ones. TuttoMercatoWeb.com interviewed the player’s agent, Carlos Oliveirato be told about his season and clarify the clubs that are interested in the attacker.

Oliveira, how do you rate your client’s season?
“The first part of the season at Woves wasn’t the best, Fabio didn’t play much. Wolverhampton had made us promises, so Fabio was willing to stay in the team, but then the promises made failed. The second part of the season, however, was positive. Although he didn’t play in his role, Fabio made himself available to the coach and the team, scoring goals and making assists. It was a learning experience, he learned about the game better and I’m sure it will be useful to him in the future”

In your opinion, what can be improved to take a further “step” in quality?
“I believe it is essential that he manages to stabilize himself in a club where he feels the trust of the club and where he can have good playing time for at least two seasons in a row. He is still very young, he is 21 years old and has immense potential, he will have to work hard and stay focused on his goals. The striker is a particular role, many mature over time and patience is needed.”

How would you see him in Serie A?
“I think it’s an excellent championship for him, we are prioritizing the Spanish and Italian markets for next season. I believe that one of the two championships will be the next step for Fabio.”

Last year many Italian clubs were interested in him, did they contact you again?
“Yes, there was a lot of interest at the beginning of the season and then also in January. The Italian market is a bit particular, many clubs conclude their final transfer deals in the last few days.”

Both Bologna and Fiorentina are looking for a striker, have you received a call from them?
“Fabio is among their options. Giovanni Sartori, who I consider a master, and Bologna’s sporting director, Marco Di Vaio, appreciate Fabio. Raffaele Palladino, Fiorentina’s new coach, also likes him a lot. We will have to wait and see how the market evolves, also because there are some clubs that need to sell before making new additions.”

If you had to compare Silva to another player, who would you compare him to?
“I think he looks a lot like Edinson Cavani or Diego Forlan. If he finds the right environment in my opinion he can, when he is 24/25 years old, he can become one of the best strikers in Europe.”
