The Petrarca Five-a-side football wins the 5th edition of the National City of Padua Under 17 Tournament, a youth 5-a-side football event which took place at the Gozzano gym with the organization of Petrarca Calcio a Cinque himself, succeeding Giorgione, Marcianise, Lazio and Aosta who had won in the previous editions, held in the pre-Covid era.
The Paduan team won the prestigious title after a hard-fought final match, which saw them prevail over Lazio’s Forte Colleferro with two goals from Manuel Medea. Mantova took 3rd place and overcame Mondolfo in the Final for 3rd and 4th place.
Aosta, Città di Chieti, CDM and Cometa Como were classified below. The final matches were broadcast live by Futsal TV of the Futsal Division.
The individual awards saw Edoardo Baioni from Mondolfo recognized as the best scorer of the Tournament, Francesco Allegrini from Forte Colleferro as the best goalkeeper, and Davide Lucacel from Petrarca as the best player. The prizes were awarded, together with the President of Petrarca Calcio a Cinque, by the Sports Councilor of the Municipality of Padua Diego Bonavina and one of the Sponsors of the event, and Luca Magario, owner of Prades. The other main sponsors of the event were Barzon & Dainese Impianti Elettrici, Congel distributor Algida, TSB Impianti and Old Wild West of Legnaro. Next weekend there will be an encore, again at the Gozzano gym, but this time for the Under 15 category.
