Cosenza, Tuesday 18 June Coldiretti demonstration against uncontrolled wildlife

Coldiretti Calabria confirmed the mobilization in Cosenza against the uncontrolled proliferation of wild boars and wildlife, despite recent positive interactions with regional politics. The meeting with the president Roberto Occhiuto and the councilor for Agriculture Gianluca Gallo led to the adoption of a commitment resolution for an Extraordinary Plan for the containment of wildlife, expected within 90 days.

The event will be held on Tuesday 18 June from 9.30 am at the headquarters of the Calabria Region on Strada Statale 107 Vaglio Lise, in Cosenza. «Coldiretti confirms the mobilization against wild boars for Tuesday 18 June from 9.30 am at the headquarters of the Calabria Region on Strada Statale 107 Vaglio Lise – Cosenza. This is to demonstrate how much the problem is felt and to speed up the procedural process for the definitive adoption of the Plan, for which we will continue to give support and contribution, as well as to further strengthen the request to make the Territorial Hunting Areas (ATC) more efficient. But also to reduce bureaucracy and speed up the compensation procedures for damages suffered”, declares Franco Aceto, President of Coldiretti Calabria.

Franco Aceto underlines the importance of the first step represented by the resolution, but insists on the need for concrete and rapid actions to drastically reduce the number of wild boars on Calabrian farms and inhabited centers. «We want – continues the number one of Coldiretti Calabria in view of the Cosenza event – to lead to a drastic reduction in the number of wild boars on farms in a reasonably short time. Especially for the citizens because the affair affects all of the Calabrian municipalities, from the countryside to the inhabited centers.”
