SERIES C – Valentini (former DG Brindisi): “Avellino favorite next year, but watch out for Catania…”

During ‘A Tutta C’ on the frequencies of TMW Radio the former general director of Brindisi Pierluigi Valentini spoke for some considerations on group C of the Serie C championship:

“I have to be honest, this year’s group C was full of glory but objectively not of extraordinary quality. Next season I expect an extremely renowned but superior group in terms of quality. It’s truly a hell of a group because there are highly competitive teams and important teams. This year, with the exception of Cesena which can never be considered a surprise despite not starting with the super-favourites, the other three promotions were the result of huge surprises. Mantua was coming off a readmission, Juve Stabia was absolutely not considered, my friend Antonio Calabro’s Carrarese was certainly a very strong team but they didn’t start as the underdogs. It means that it was the season of surprises.”

I say that Avellino does very well in giving continuity to the project and I consider them the favorites next year, but watch out for Catania because by choosing Faggiano and Toscano on the bench he puts two authentic champions as frontmen of the season. Given the many mistakes made this year, I believe that these choices represent an absolute guarantee. The Benevento project with the annual renewal of Auteri, however, I honestly see as a bit confusing. On the basis of the first moves, Avellino for the intelligent continuity it gave to the project and Catania with some very, very smart choices they will be the references of group C”.
