Water in Messina: Respect Messina “from 24 hours a day to zero hours”

press note Respect Messina

On the serious problem of the increasingly accentuated shortage of water supply in our city, there is a succession of reassuring declarations alternating with restrictive ordinances and threats of rationing, some of which has already begun some time ago.
And this way of “posing” denotes what has always been a “target” of this Municipal Administration. That is, a “self-absolving narrative” (if not, in some circumstances, self-glorifying) which, both for this aspect and for many others, tends to hide the harsh reality. But as far as the water crisis is concerned, all the issues have come to a head and we can no longer procrastinate, in light of the difficulties that the citizens of Messina are experiencing, and we must have the courage and sense of responsibility to say how they really are the things.
Therefore, with respect to the various hypotheses proposed, it would be appropriate to know the current and real flow rate of water supplied for the needs of citizens; what the real situation is regarding the bypass to be built to supply, as per the agreement, water to the Municipality of Taormina, and, in the event that this bypass was already in operation, the actual amount of water supplied daily; Furthermore, regarding the “return of quantities of water by “Sicilia Acque” we ask to know the exact methods for the mechanisms and times, and which person will be responsible for controlling the opening and closing of the “shutters” for any supply .
And what better opportunity to clarify than a meeting of the City Council which sees not only the participation of the Mayor and the administrators but also of the AMAM and the water ATI, to thus provide all the necessary answers to the many questions that the city community asks, and, above all, to finally tell THE TRUTH!
