Two plaques were delivered, one to the Municipality and the other to the Abruzzo Region, on the 100th anniversary of the Pescara Circuit. And president Sospiri has announced that he wants to acquire the Coppa Acerbo

The mayor of Pescara, Carlo Masci, participated this morning in the conference ‘The beautiful tale of the Pescara Circuit’ which was held at the Aurum on the 100th anniversary of the Pescara Circuit and the Acerbo Cup. On this occasion, two plaques were delivered, one to the Municipality of Pescara and the other to the Abruzzo Region, as thanks for having contributed to the success of the initiatives linked to this anniversary.

In this regard, the president of the regional council revealed that he had “a dream: that of being able to acquire, like the Abruzzo Region, the historic Coppa Acerbo and to keep it inside a display case to be placed in the central nave of the future single headquarters of the Abruzzo Region which we will implement in a small portion of the resulting areas. A display case that will look directly at the future D’Annunzio Library, two symbols of the history of Pescara, a history of speed of action, modernism and roots”.

Sospiri will try to convince the owners of the Cup “to sell it to the Abruzzo Region”, so as to be able to position it “so that it is visible to everyone, in front of the D’Annunzio library, which we are setting up by carrying out an operation with the Vittoriale to purchase a large D’Annunzio’s book inventory fund. We must tell the mystical story of the Coppa Acerbo of the ‘steel knights’ who raced by to the world, we must not get lost in trivial questions, and the Abruzzo Region will be available”.
