Nicoló Pieri, a central defender born in 2002 with 63 games and 13 goals behind him with Futsal Cesena, has renewed his contract for another two seasons. For Pieri this will therefore be the fourth season in Cesena where, in 2021, he also won the Under 19 group. With personality performances during the past season he regained his call up to the senior national team after having been the cornerstone of the Under 19 national team. Despite the young age has already made his debut, as well as in the national team, also in Serie A but above all in the Champions League with the Feldi Eboli shirt. Below are Pieri’s words after the renewal.
THE STATEMENTS – «All in all I am satisfied with how I played in the matches in the championship, obviously there were mistakes but there is no player who doesn’t make mistakes: the important thing was to learn from the mistakes along the way. The team’s season was very up and down, especially in the first round (a period during which we dropped many points along the way), totally different from the second round where we managed to provide continuity and achieve the set objectives. The club’s project has always been a fundamental point for me and the goal is to make futsal increasingly evident and practiced in my city. The fundamental point for staying was the confirmation of many of my companions. It’s difficult to set objectives in terms of position before the season, but certainly the main point will be to give continuity to the performances of this year’s second round and then see where it leads. The only thing I would like to change, as mentioned previously, is not to make the mistakes of the first round of last season, i.e. not being able to give continuity to the performances. This is the only thing I would like to change both on a personal and team level: it will be a fundamental point for a good position in the standings at the end of the year.”
