PALERMO – A pilot of the 118 helicopter rescue service, Giampaolo Abeltino, 57 years old, on duty in Palermo has died while he was in a taxi in via Dante. He had just been discharged from the Turin clinic after being hospitalized for some cardiac checks.
Sardinian origins
Twice in the cardiology department of the Ingrassia hospital in the past two weeks had been checked. The pilot was originally from Sardinia. “In Palermo where he lived and worked, our fellow villager Giampaolo Abeltino (in the family and friends Gianni) suddenly passed away. – says the parish priest Paolo Pala of Palau -. We still don’t know when the funeral will be held.”
