Manfredonia. “Without work there can be no future and no legality”

Without Work there can be no Future and Legality ‼️
Dear candidate and non-candidate politicians and dear fellow citizens, I am a simple boy, a simple citizen of Manfredonia who loves his city of origin as well as our Manfredonia, I don’t feel like telling you that I love Manfredonia because in these months of electoral campaign this term it has been abused, I prefer to show love towards my city and those who know me know how much I care.
I too, like many other boys and girls, left our city not for pleasure or by will but always and only for the sole reason that has gripped Manfredonia for years, for decades, the biggest and most serious problem as well as the lack of work and above all dignified work as contracts and the law provide.
After this small introduction I feel the duty and pleasure as a citizen of Manfredonia to address an appeal not only to the candidate and non-candidate politicians, obviously in particular to the two challenging mayoral candidates Ugo Galli and Domenico La Marca but also an appeal addressed to all my dear fellow citizens.
This electoral campaign was set up and focused on two fundamental themes: legality and the future. I have heard and discussed legality and the future through interviews, conferences, debates, pre-ballot meetings and still in the run-off phase.
These themes are welcome because in a civilized country legality must reign and we must look to the future, but my question arises spontaneously, can we think about legality and the future without work? Or at least without regular work? Fighting irregular work is also legality.
As we well know, Manfredonia loses inhabitants every year, there are young people who always leave for work, every boy or girl who leaves is a piece of the future that is lost.
The month of September will coincide with the first famous 100 days of city government, a month in which there is the greatest escape towards a future, those who leave to study abroad and most likely then stay there for work and those who leave because school has finished due to lack of work, the round of sending CVs to the northern cities began.
Unfortunately, walking around the city and talking to people I noticed that many other young people are ready to leave after the summer.
Usually the cities with the most illegality are the cities where there is less work, less work means less future and consequently less civility.
I am very happy that we are discussing legality and the future, but I would be happier if we were discussing work.
We discuss and talk about work, what the young people of Manfredonia need to create and build a future for themselves and consequently there will be an increase in legality and a better future.
While the appeal I feel like making to my dear fellow citizens is a simple commitment, not tiring but important, useful and fundamental also for attracting investors, tourists and therefore jobs and the economy.
It’s simply about having love for your city which is the home of all Manfredonians, how? Not dirtying it, not mistreating it and not vandalizing it.
Every uncivilized act involves a municipal expense that affects the pockets of all of us, every uncivilized act causes an investor to change his mind about whether to invest or not and above all it ensures that tourists do not choose our city because simply anyone would like to walk between cleanliness and civility.
We citizens are always used to asking for the moon from the politician on duty, but what do we do for our city in our own small way obviously? Do we have a clear conscience?
Let’s start by getting involved first in order to network with the relevant bodies.
Manfredonia is our home, we must defend it not destroy it.
I wish the two mayoral candidates good luck in the run-off phase and good voting.
