CANALE DI CEREGNANO (Rovigo) – Resting with applause and a full house for the “Bontemponi” in the Canale square for the show of the Bottrighe folk group, guest of “Canale in festa” promoted by the municipal administration of Ceregnano.
For two uninterrupted hours, the center of the small village was animated by the joy of the Bontemponi who performed songs and ballads from Polesine, in particular from the Po Delta. The new songs harmonized by Sergio Salmi, one of the musicians, were also highly appreciated of the group.
The moments of “ganxega”, a typical end-of-work party in the countryside, were the common thread, keeping the spectators entertained, glued for the entire duration of the show, despite the cold evening. The folklore of Polesine, revisited and updated for the new 2024 tour, was presented and conducted by Loretta Guzzon and Lorella Guarnieri.
A variety show also seasoned with tasty jokes in the vernacular of Roberto Marangoni and by the musical scenes of peasant life well interpreted by the various soloists of the association. The mayor was fully satisfied Egisto Marchetti and the vice mayor Elisa Pizzardowho in their speeches warmly complimented the members of the group, expressing words of affection and gratitude for the “engaging sympathy brought to the party, transmitting the values of peasant civilization”.
Before the conclusion with the delivery of some CDs to the institutions, the president of the group Roberto Marangoni fondly remembered Nadia Ferrarese, former mayor of Ceregnano, very close to the Bontemponi family. The group will present the new fifth CD on Saturday 29 June in Bottrighe, during the 33rd “Evening of Honour” – Between folklore and solidarity, in the presence of associations, doctors and institutions and the municipality of Ceregnano will be represented on that occasion by vice mayor Pizzardo.
