Gloria Zanardi, municipal councilor of Fratelli d’Italia, filed a question, the second, regarding the pitch in via Negri: «Already in May 2023 I presented a question following reports from residents on the problems of degradation and incivility that were encountered on a daily basis (vandalization of games, episodes of petty crime, abandoned waste, etc.), highlighting how essential it was to guarantee citizens the use of public spaces for their intended purpose and how essential it was to protect their safety, as well as urban decorum and public order, thus asking for a strengthening of control and supervision, a suitable fence and the attention of the Security Committee”.
«The question – he explains – has not yet been scheduled. In the meantime, the “#ontheroad” project (created by the Municipality and co-financed by the Emilia Romagna Region) was presented in the town hall and on 7 June 2024 the new basketball court was inaugurated, available to all citizens and young visitors to the gardens in activities both free and coordinated by sports clubs and educational agencies”.
The representative of Fratelli d’Italia highlights: «I have once again received reports regarding the inconveniences encountered in the last period in the area in question: the basketball court is used at all hours of the day and this causes an acoustic impact which, especially in certain time slots, it disturbs the peace of the residents of the area, therefore, it would be appropriate to set times to regulate its use, the delimitation of the garden, even today, is not suitable to prevent uncivilized people from entering the area at any time of the day night also to engage in inappropriate behavior. The episodes of petty crime and disturbance have not ceased and the residents, apart from the redevelopment of the basketball court, are awaiting concrete actions to increase control and surveillance of the area, both with cameras but also with greater supervision by the Local Police ; the residents of the area who contacted me were never subjected to any questionnaire to understand their needs”.
Zanardi therefore, with the question, asks the mayor and the council if they intend to intervene to solve the problems encountered, establishing times of use, modifying the current delimitation of the garden, strengthening supervision and control of the area – with which tools and with what timing – and asks whether the questionnaire mentioned in the project was also submitted to residents of the surrounding areas.
