Uan Lab Viareggio lights up the summer of beach soccer in Viareggio by winning the 23rd edition of the Carlo Romani Cup, the first beach tournament of the season and held at the Matteo Valenti Beach Stadium. Reserved for athletes born in 2012-2013, this Romani Cup was a succession of good plays and above all many goals, 90 in the group stage matches alone. As mentioned, it was Uan Lab Viareggio (in the photo by Carlo Cosci) that triumphed and it took penalties to defeat a fierce Saba Team who surrendered only 9-8, after regular time had ended 4-4 and extra time 5-5 (Carbone 3, Ratti, Merlino/D’Angelo, Di Cristofaro, Dolci, Cruz Benassi, Francesco Benassi).
Uan Lab Viareggio who in the semi-final had overcome Spera Ebbasta 4-3 on penalties, after a 1-1 draw in regulation (Fredianelli/Fommei), while Saba Team had defeated Atletico Viareggio 6-2 (Benassi, Bertuccelli 2, Cosignani, Dolfi, Di Cristofaro/Marchetti, Popescu).
