Of Campania origin, he arrived in our city in 1988 after having married to her beloved husband Raffaele Casillo, also a teacher – of physical education – at Fermi. Cinzia was a teacher in various elementary schools in Reggio Emilia (including Marconi), but above all we remember Bergonzi and Gino Bartali (Lepido) of via Premuda.
A radiant smile, an engaging vitality. These were Cinzia’s best qualities as she was also a very good dancer. So much so that together with her husband and children Marianna and Vanni, they had set up the ‘Ritmo Caliente’ association which has its headquarters in via Malaguzzi and which is very active between Reggio, Rubiera and Casalgrande, with several evenings where they teach varied type of dances, from classics to Latin to gymnastics. Cinzia was an unfailing point of reference with her husband.
A wonderful life, full of energy. In October 2022 the worst fate that no one expects with a ‘monster’ creeping into his body.
“He fought for two years – says the daughter Marianna – He never lost hope, so much so that he made continuous visits to obtain eligibility and return to school. He loved his job and will be missed by many, to the boys and colleagues. She was able to range from one subject to another, teaching through play in a way that captured the attention of all the students.”

Yesterday afternoon the funeral took place in a packed parish church of Sant’Anselmothen the coffin continued to the Coviolo cemetery. “There were so many people and above all his boys, even those who are 33 years old today – explains her daughter Marianna – She always did her best for others, she had a strong sense of generosity and altruism. And to see all these people who brought her greetings, it means that my mother left an important mark…”.
In addition to her husband and two children, Cinzia leaves behind her beloved 4-year-old nephew Filippo, her son-in-law Davide, her father Pasquale, her sisters Anna and Pina and her brother Gino.
