A tragedy that leaves you speechless, that of mother and 10 year old daughter death under a Frecciarossa train in Montesilvano, near Pescara. And as the hours pass, new dramatic details emerge about the story. Today was supposed to be a special day for the little girl because she was supposed to be baptized and become Catholic: according to what Il Messaggero writes, she would then also make her first communion, as requested by the parish priest, Don Valentino Iezzi.
The words of the parish priest
The latter confirms: «I had spoken to mother and daughter a few days ago and the little girl was very happy to receive the baptism». Mother and daughter had been introduced to the preparation to receive the sacrament by a couple of the parish priest’s collaborators who had had a meeting with them on Wednesday, the day before the tragedy. According to the investigators, the mother, of Cuban origins, appeared to be in difficulty, with psychological fragility, and the following day she no longer answered the phone: it was on Thursday that she jumped onto the tracks as the train passed, with the little girl hand in hand with her .
Karate and photos on social media
As we read again in the Messaggero, father and mother took their daughter twice a week to the Karate Sport Center gym in Montesilvano: «A little girl who put a lot of effort into this sport – says the teacher Emanuele Nicolosi -, I am shocked by this news. On June 30th she should have taken the exams to obtain the orange belt, we will award it to her in her memory.” On his mother’s social profiles, RGJ, many photos together, hugs and kisses: her idol was the Chinese actor Zhang Zhehan. So much happiness in the online photos which however did not coincide with reality.
Meanwhile, the witnesses’ stories told to the investigators also emerge: scenes they would never have thought they would see. The two, they report to the investigators, “they threw themselves under the train, after remaining still on the platform for a few minutes, waiting” they reportedly told the investigators. “I’ve already spoken to the investigators, I don’t feel like saying anything more” says a boy at the station, Il Messaggero writes again. Another confirms only that the woman “was young and she had a little girl with her.” The Frecciarossa driver tried in every way to avoid the impact, but he couldn’t.
