The G7 summit in Borgo Egnazia, Puglia, officially ended yesterday, but the calendar of intergovernmental meetings organized by the Italian presidency is still full of appointments in various cities of the country. The next ministerial meeting will be held in a few days, from 27 to 29 June in Trieste, and will be dedicated to education.
Trieste, described by Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara as a bridge city between the West and the East, is known for its ability to integrate different cultures, including the Slovenian minority. The African Union will also participate in the meeting, underlining the importance of international cooperation also in education.
This will then be followed by the ministerial meeting dedicated to science and technology on 9, 10 and 11 July in Bologna and Forlì. On 16 and 17 July it will be the turn of the Commerce ministerial meeting in Villa San Giovanni and Reggio Calabria.
After the August break, the ministerial meeting on Work and Employment will be held on 11-13 September in Cagliari. From 19 to 21 September, Naples will host the meeting of the culture ministers of the 7 countries. The Agriculture ministerial meeting is scheduled for 26-28 September in Syracuse, followed by the Interior Ministerial meeting in Mirabella Eclano (Avellino) on 2-4 October.
The meeting dedicated to Equal Opportunities will be held on 4-6 October in Matera. The heads of the Health departments will meet on 9-11 October in Ancona. Inclusion and disability will be the topics of discussion on 14-16 October in Assisi and Perugia, followed by Defense ministers on 18-20 October in Naples.
The Development ministerial is scheduled for 24-25 October in Pescara, while the issues of sustainable urban development will be discussed in Genoa on 3-5 November. Tourism ministers will meet on 13-15 November in Florence. Finally, a ministerial meeting dedicated to Foreign Affairs, which should take place in Fiuggi, is to be confirmed.
