Football Foggia, the time for announcements is approaching: Roma new boss?

Everything has been silent for days, or rather, weeks. So much so that the days of uncertainty (assuming that certain intentions revealed were actually real) about the future of Calcio Foggia seem months away. And instead, just under a month ago, the announced disengagement of Nicola Canonico took center stage, having set the Municipal Administration in motion to find the solution to guarantee the future of the club, avoiding a new disappearance from professionalism.

It is well known how the negotiation for the sale of the majority shares to the group of local entrepreneurs went. Just as it is now known that in the end Nicola Canonico went back on his initial intentions, registering the team and even promising a championship as a protagonist, and no longer just a “dignified” one.

However, the discussions with the consortium of local entrepreneurs led by Antonio Salandra, Annino De Finis and Matteo La Torre continued even after the fateful date of 4 June, a sign that the intermediation of the Municipality in some way served, above all to favor the dialogue between the parties in the name of cordial relations. Nothing to do with the turbulent negotiations of last year.

However, the balance was not achieved, despite various attempts to remodulate the offer. Foggia will remain in Canonico’s hands, but it cannot be ruled out that the parties may sit down at the negotiating table again in the coming months. However, at the moment it is excluded that the entrepreneurs involved in the negotiation support the club as a sponsor.

Once the corporate storm has passed, now the time has come to think about the sporting part. Canonico would have guaranteed that he had already blocked the sporting director and the coach. Whether the official announcement will arrive soon, or after July 1st (in the case of subjects still tied to other clubs), is yet to be understood.

Belviso’s successor will not be Pasquale Foggia, who has been strongly linked to the Rossoneri club for days. The former Benevento manager would now be on the verge of accepting the offer from Brescia, in Serie B.

From Foggia we will move on to Rome. Pun intended, because Canonico’s choice would have fallen on Domenico Roma, former sporting director of Bojano, Vibonese and Messina, with experience as a scouting collaborator in Turin, Bari and Cosenza.
Once the manager has been chosen, we will proceed with the coach. And here the more or less realistic names, which have piled up in recent days, are numerous.

It won’t be Modica, who has just renewed his contract with Messina – where he worked with Roma -. It shouldn’t even be Vincenzo Maiuri, fresh from the excellent championship with Sorrento, who has also been linked to the Rossoneri bench several times in recent weeks. And not even Capuano, for whom a stay in Taranto is not excluded.

Mouths still sewn on the name, which expands beyond belief the range of hypotheses, more or less truthful. From Caneo to Cangelosi, passing through Di Donato, Caserta, Diana, Iori and Dal Canto. Without excluding the most classic of Mr.
