It will be a Sunday of intense work for president Noto and general director Morganti. The choice of the new coach holds sway at the Giallorossi. Many benches in Serie B and many joints could materialize in the next week. But let’s go in order.
Catanzaro is betting hard on Aquilani. The former Pisa coach, now given for certain to Reggiana in recent weeks, is strongly courted by the Giallorossi club. The parties appear to have become closer in the last few hours. Aquilani’s characteristics appeal to the Giallorossi environment due to a game, in many ways, similar to that of Vivarini. Let’s face it: Aquilani has requests and President Noto knows it. In fact, he is not the only name on the notebook of the Giallorossi management who do not want to be caught unprepared in the event of Aquilani’s failure to arrive. In the last few hours, thanks to the new general manager Morganti, the waters have been tested at Juventus on Montero (destined for the Juventus under 23 team although not yet made official) and on Brambilla who will leave the Juventus club at the end of June. Simple surveys or something more, which however make us understand how the Giallorossi club keeps other leads hot. Nor can a surprise name be ruled out, as was done for the new CEO that few had hypothesized. The choice of coach obviously depends on the arrival of the new sporting director who will presumably be announced at the beginning of the week with Polito, Vaira and Romairone in contention.
SERIES B CHAPTER. Almost everything is ready for the waltz of the benches in Serie B. From Catanzaro’s decision to release Vivarini or not, the round will move. The former Giallorossi coach (who still hopes for Venezia) is the number one choice on the Frosinone bench. At Reggiana, if it doesn’t close for Aquilani, Caserta, Abate and Viali are in the running. The latter has just terminated his contract with Cosenza and Empoli really likes him to replace the departing Nicola destined for Cagliari. In Pisa it seems made for Pippo Inzaghi, Cesena has blocked D’aversa while Longo should arrive in Bari. Cosenza keeps the names of Zenga and Abate alive while at Salernitana the strong name is that of Sottil. Di Francesco ready to leave Frosinone to settle in Venice.
A very broad waltz of coaching and joints. Just one non-arrival would be enough to blow up the entire bank. In a month many teams will begin training camps, which is why next week will be the decisive one. All that remains is to wait.
